Escape from the chaotic capital city and take a journey back through time, Start with a short regional train ride to Chacherngsao – a lesser known historical town east of Bangkok. First stop at Wat Sothornwararam Worawiharn, a temple with a remarkably beautiful Italian marbled temple hall. Next take a boat trip on Bangprakong River to Talaat Baan Mai, a hundred-year-old market, and Wat Leng Hok Yee - a Chinese shrine with papier-mâche sculptures. Continue to Talaat Klong Suan, another 100-year old canal side market where you will be impressed to see the simple lifestyles of the local people. The canal’s old shop houses and stalls sell a variety of items including food, quaint old utensils and ancient tin toys. After touring the market, continue by car to Suan Khun Thor garden near Wang Nam Keaw where you will have the chance to meet a traditional medicine man. This respected local doctor, using time-honored techniques, will give you a traditional health check-up- a fascinating experience. (Note: doctor not available on Mondays).

Overnight at Khao Yai

Spend today exploring Khao Yai National Park.
After a breakfast at the resort drive into the National park, to the start point for a short walk (1km). Walk through the forest to Nong Phug She Tower which is located near Nong Phug Shee pond, the main water source for many animals, and where you have a good chance of seeing elephant and other wild animals. Continue to Heow Suwat waterfalls, made famous when they were used as a site location for filming the movie ‘The Beach’. Take a refreshing swim in the cool water or simply sit by the falls and enjoy the scenery.
Return to your car where a short drive through scenic countryside takes you to Grande Monte Vineyard in Asoke Valley. Here you will be served a fabulous lunch at Vincotto, the Vineyard’s restaurant, while dining in the casual indoor atmosphere or sitting in the garden under a blossoming trellis. After your meal, explore the vineyard and partake in a wine and grape tasting.
Return to the resort.
Overnight at Khao Yai

Spend a leisurely morning at the resort. There is an option to play a round of golf, relax with a spa treatment or go for another trek in the park. This afternoon, return to Bangkok with a short stop in Saraburi to visit a temple with an unusual Buddha footprint and thus a popular pilgrimage site.
